NEW MOON in CANCER
This week’s New Moon is in the home-loving, nurturing sign of Cancer.
Cancer is a water sign, you may have been feeling a bit emotional leading up to this New Moon, especially if you’ve been feeling tired and/or run down.
When Cancerians feel vulnerable, they like to withdraw into their ‘shell’ until they feel restored enough to emerge again. This is good advice for us all. There’s nothing wrong in taking a step back and nurturing yourself for a while, just don’t stay in that shell for too long and become a couch potato.
The New Moon is an ideal time to refresh your surroundings, to give your home some TLC as well as yourself. You may feel inspired to create some art and explore your creativity more, this New Moon is perfect for starting new projects.
One of the oracle cards that keeps coming up for me at the moment says, “do what nourishes your Soul” and that is a perfect message for all of us during this Cancerian New Moon transit.
Questions to ask yourself:
✨ What would nourish my Soul right now?
✨ What would nourish me emotionally?
✨ What would nourish me mentally?
✨ What would nourish me physically?
Most of my clients are Lightworkers, Coaches, Healers and Therapists, and I’ve heard from so many of them over the past couple of weeks saying that they are feeling worn out. It’s not always easy to keep your light shining when there is so much heavy stuff going on in our own lives as well as globally.
Many of them feel guilty for not doing more for their communities and for the world, some just don’t feel they have enough wattage in their light to send out to anyone else. And that’s okay. This New Moon is the perfect time to nurture yourself, to gather your energy for yourself and give yourself a few days to recharge those spiritual batteries.
Allow yourself time to cwtch* up at home, to give yourself some time for self-care and creativity, and sharing cosy times with those you love.
(*cwtch is a Welsh word that means cuddle/cosy up).
When you stop and nurture yourself, you allow space for divine downloads to happen, for inspiration to be reignited, for new ideas, and guidance for the way forward.
The effects of this New Moon will last until the August New Moon, so give yourself permission to cwtch, create and nurture your relationships over the coming month.
Cancer is a family oriented sign, who else in your family/extended family needs some nurturing and TLC? Use the next few days to look after each other and have fun with each other as it’s a great moon for family gatherings, for forgiveness and new beginnings in the family. Cook together, eat together, talk to each other and have fun.
New Moons are about new beginnings, and this one is especially auspicious for anything new you want to create or try out, the more passionate you are about it the more likely you are to succeed.
This Cancer New Moon invites all of us to get creative about making our lives feel good more of the time, not just some of the time. Life has been a bit heavy and serious for us all recently, Cancer invites us to do what we can to bring some sunshine to our lives and make life good for ourselves and those we love. What changes can you make that would invite more good times into your life? You deserve to be happy.
Ideas for New Moon in Cancer
🛁Bathing Ritual to cleanse away the old and prepare yourself for the new. An Epsom salts bath is ideal as it will cleanse any negative energy and relax you. Add a couple of drops of essential oil to the bath and enjoy.
🏊🏼♀️Or go swimming - with each stroke visualise moving away from the past and towards the future that you want.
🌊Visit water – a beautiful lake or the ocean, listen to the soothing sound of the waves, just looking at water can be healing and restorative.
💧Make sure you drink plenty of water – little and often – to flush out any upsets or stress toxins as you prepare for your new chapter.
(Don’t like drinking cold water? Drink boiled water that has cooled and is still warm – your organs will thank you).
The keys for this transit are:
Stay grounded!
(all this watery energy/emotional stuff may make you feel wobbly)
Be kind to yourself
Be kind to others
Have a nourishing New Moon y’all!
Elly
