NEW MOON Blessings: REVEAL – RELEASE – RENEW

NEW MOON in LIBRA
The dark nights of the Moon brought Autumn in with strong winds and lashing rain in my part of the world, ideal for cwtching up at home to rest and reflect before this weekend’s New Moon. Disturbed sleep pattern anyone? How about weird dreams? A large solar flare on the 8th triggered sensitivity for many.
Libra is the Peacemaker of the zodiac, champion of the underdog, who believes in equality and fairness in all matters of life. Sensitive to injustice, Libra needs to find balance within themselves as much as they seek balance outside of themselves, otherwise they use up too much nervous energy worrying about things they really shouldn’t waste so much energy on. Libra is the scales, inviting us all to find balance.

This New Moon in Libra sees Libra’s ruling planet Venus retrograde in Scorpio. Some emotional deep diving is going on for all of us, old fears rise up, old exes may show up, feeling emotionally sensitive. This New Moon is about healing old wounds and then letting go, learning to trust ourselves more regarding our emotions and relationships. It’s not just romantic relationships; it’s all the relationships that touch our lives.
~ Which part of your life feels out of balance?
~ Which part of you feels out of balance?
~ Where do you keep giving your power away?
~ Who keeps draining or vampiring your energy?
~ What is making you feel unsettled, unsatisfied or restless?
~ What can you do about it? Who or what needs to be discarded? What changes can you make?
Regarding all of your relationships, the New Moon brings clarity regarding where you place your trust, energy and love in them, is it reciprocated? Is it always you chasing them? Stop leaking your energy on those who do not appreciate it, you need that energy for yourself and to create space for those who will appreciate you.
We are in the last quarter of the year, the seasons of reflection, resting and recharging, the time of Yin energy, i.e. going inwards. There are also seven planets currently retrograde at the same time; Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Chiron and Mercury. This will slow things down, this buffer of time gives you the time to heal, to decide what you truly want, it gives you time to adjust your plans and ideas, a time to reassess. All this slowing down is to enable you to tap into your own intuition more, to trust your own guidance before moving forward in the Spring.

Retrogrades are all the ‘re’s’ – reveal, revise, remove, rejuvenate, renovate, reconcile, reclaim, regenerate, rebirth.
Avoid makeovers such as drastic haircuts or big changes in the home (you could regret this), avoid impulse spending. Use this time to pamper yourself, and make time for self-care with what you already have.
It’s been a tough year for many, you have been giving so much on so many levels to others, now it’s time to focus on you.
It’s also a great time to delete old contacts and connections on your devices and address books, this creates space for new ones and get rid of any apps you’re not using. Delete old folders, files, emails and shred/recycle old paperwork. Look around your home/office, what hasn’t moved in months or years? Does it fit with who you are becoming? Get rid of nine items and move things around to change the energy.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Autumn is associated with the Metal element and the Lung and Large Intestine systems. Protect yourself from the seasonal colds and bugs by building It encourages you to conserve energy, keep warm as the weather cools, breathe deeply, rest well and enjoy nourishing, cooked foods such as soups, stews, root vegetables, grains, apples and pears, alongside regular hydration to counter Autumn dryness. Gentle walking, Tai Chi or Qigong can also support a slower rhythm, as can gentle yoga and gentle dancing.
NEW MOON Ritual
You will need; paper, pen, heatproof bowl, matches, tealight (nightlight), cinnamon.
Prepare a quiet space where you will not be disturbed.
Take a few deep breaths to centre yourself.
Write down all your concerns and worries, write down what/who you know you need to let go of, write down what you want to let go of from the past. Keep writing until you feel the energy wane. No need to read any of it.
Then roll up the paper and burn it to ash in the heatproof bowl. As it burns have gratitude for what the past has taught you and use the chant below.
The ash can then be taken outside to be carried on the winds or spread on the garden to be absorbed by Mother Earth.
Now separate the little nightlight/tealight candle from its foil container, sprinkle a good pinch of cinnamon into the bottom of it, replace the little candle, place on a heatproof mat, then light the candle, giving thanks that it will light your way for the new and bring sweetness to you.
NEW MOON in Libra CHANT

By Libra’s light, I now release,
What weighs me down, I turn to peace.
Old ties dissolve, old fears take flight,
I trust my heart to guide me right.
With cinnamon sweet and candle bright,
I welcome balance, love and light.
As ash meets earth and winds renew,
I clear the old and call in what's true.
New Moon Blessings to y’all!
